Cultural education is part of the curriculum rather than an addition to it, and students compete at district, divisional and state level.

One day, hour by hour

The college filmed a single day on the campus — breakfast at half past seven, the ground at a quarter past eight, the classrooms through the day, the gate at half past five and the study hour at eight.

01In the room

Seamless integration, endless possibilities

Going beyond the standard norms of teaching, the college has put some genuinely useful technology into its classrooms — and then built the teaching practice around it rather than the other way round.

  • Interactive whiteboards in every class
  • Structured lesson plans, with extra classes where understanding is incomplete
  • Lessons that can be recorded and revised
  • A reading corner in each classroom

02Rooted

Modern teaching, older ground

While the college runs a modern education system, it also believes in being strongly rooted in its own history and culture. Cultural education is an integral part of the curriculum.

Cultural programmes and observance days involve every student, so that the significance of the region's culture — and of nature in the students' lives — is understood rather than merely announced.

03Exposure

Somewhere to test it

SSPU provides opportunity and exposure for students to compete at intra- and inter-level competitions — to participate, to excel, and to develop the confidence that only comes from having done it in front of other people.

Every child is an uncut diamond. Nurturing the talents and skills of young minds, with a focus on all-round development, is central to what the college does.

04Together

All work and no play

From a Fresher's cum Talent's Day that welcomes new students and gives them a stage, to Independence Day, the college is a place where knowledge meets some fun.

The clearest example remains Sri Sharada Utsav 2019–20 — a two-day festival held on 28 December 2019 and 1 January 2020, at which every student of SSPU took the stage with at least one performance.

The most recent was Parva 2024, staged in December on the college ground itself, against the front of the building: two dance-dramas under the lights, and the whole cast on stage for the finale.
